What is masseter botox?

TMJ disorder (sometimes called TMD) affects the temporomandibular joint and surrounding muscles, causing pain, stiffness, clicking, and difficulty chewing.

Many patients also experience teeth grinding (bruxism) or jaw clenching, which worsens symptoms and damages teeth over time.

Botox for TMJ works by relaxing the overactive masseter muscles, relieving tension, reducing grinding, and protecting your teeth from further wear. TMJ Botox injections are primarily administered into the masseter muscles (cheeks) and temporalis muscles (temples) to relax muscles responsible for clenching and grinding.
