Dental check-ups at Brookvale & Merrifield

One of the biggest advantages of staying with the same practice is continuity of care. Your dentist gets to know your teeth, your history, and what matters to you.

As a private dental practice, we’re able to offer short waiting times, and appointments that are thorough and unhurried. If we spot something that needs attention, we'll talk you through your options clearly and without pressure, so you can make the right decision for you.

What is a dental check-up?

A dental examination is a routine appointment where your dentist checks your teeth, gums, and overall oral health. It's a chance for your dentist to update your medical history, take any necessary X-rays, and carry out extra checks like an oral cancer screening. It's also your chance to ask questions, raise any concerns, and get personalised advice about keeping your mouth healthy between visits.

What does a dental exam at Brookvale & Merrifield include?

Book your appointment

Call us or book online. Let our reception team know if it's your first visit and we'll make sure there's plenty of time set aside for your introduction to the practice.

Your check-up

Your dentist will check your teeth, gums, and soft tissues, and carry out an oral cancer screening. We'll update your medical history, take X-rays if needed, and talk you through our findings.

Your next steps

If everything looks healthy, we'll let you know when to come back. If we spot something that needs attention, we'll explain your options clearly and agree on next steps together.

How much does a dental check-up cost?

Check-up appointments are included in our Maintenance Membership plan at £24.95 per month. It also covers two hygiene visits and all routine X-rays each year, making it great value for anyone who wants to keep on top of their oral health. If you'd rather just pay as you go, that's absolutely fine too. You'll find full pricing details on our pricing page.

Do I need a dental check-up?

Most adults benefit from a check-up once or twice a year. If you have a history of gum disease or decay, we may recommend more frequent visits. If it's been a while since your last appointment, don't worry! We see patients with gaps in their oral care history all the time, and we only want you to get the care you need.

We’ll often suggest pairing your check-up with a hygiene appointment to give your teeth a full refresh.
