Teeth cleaning at Brookvale & Merrifield

A professional clean from a dental hygienist reaches the areas your toothbrush simply can't. Our hygienists remove hardened plaque and tartar that build up over time, protecting your gums and helping prevent long-term damage.

We offer both traditional scale and polish and advanced Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT) airflow treatment for a thorough, comfortable clean.

What happens during your hygiene appointment?

At a dental hygiene appointment, a qualified hygienist will assess and improve the health of your gums and the cleanliness of your teeth. They’ll carry out a scale and polish, removing the hardened tartar that brushing alone can’t shift, before polishing away any surface staining.

We also offer Guided Biofilm Therapy, which is a gentler alternative to traditional cleaning.

Do I need to see a hygienist?

If your gums bleed when you brush, or if it's been a while since your last professional clean, a hygiene appointment is a sensible next step. Tartar build-up and early gum disease often go unnoticed because they don't always cause discomfort at first. Catching gum problems early makes them far easier to manage and helps protect your long-term oral health. Even if everything feels fine, regular teeth cleaning keeps things that way.
